    Default Group Ride Guidelines

We will attempt to have more rides in 2020 than we have done in the past few years. So, as a reminder, here is a link to our website, Group Ride Guidelines for us to review. Most importantly, ride your own ride.

Secondly, always insure that the person riding behind you knows that the group is making a turn. If that means waiting for the trailing rider, do so and everyone ahead of you will do the same. That being said, all riders should keep up with about a 2-3 second interval and no more than 5 seconds.

Thirdly, ride in a staggered formation and never, never ride in the middle track "oil line". A rider in the middle track blocks the forward and rear view of every other rider in the group. This is a serious safety problem for all.

Thank you for reading our group riding guidelines and I look forward to riding with you in the near future.

    Cheers,

    Hi Alabeemers,

    Feedback

Thank you for your good comments one and all. And thank you for reminding me about negotiating curves. Obviously we can't remain staggered into the curves, so pick your best line and then return to your staggered position when possible. Also, not keeping up with the leading riders and then rolling on to catch up causes the dreaded bungee effect. Please consecrate on your surroundings and stay within the 2-5 second range behind the rider in front of you. 2-3 seconds behind the leading rider is perfect.
