    Default Bruce Wheatley

    Posted at the request of our President Tim Flynn;

    Our great Chicken Rally in Dunlap, TN turned tragic Saturday. Friend and member Bruce Wheatley lost his life in a motorcycle accident.

    Bruce was an avid rider. His presence was always welcomed at our meetings and rides. He had a friendly smile always ready to lend you an ear and fascinated us with his stories of life in the Jungle.

    For those of us that attended the rally Bruce will be remembered as the caring person that brought his Bag Pipes so he could play Amazing Grace in memory of Connie Reaves. That Friday night performance was extraordinary and will live on in our hearts & minds.

    Please pray for the Wheatley family to help them cope with their tremendous loss.

    This still does not seem real. We are so glad that we got to visit with him one last time this weekend. He was such a nice person who always had a smile whenever you saw him. He will be missed.

    Bruce will be truly missed by all. He really enjoyed the rides and socializing with us. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Kathy and children.

    Cathy Wheatley told Kathy and I that Bruce did not want any service upon his passing. Additionally, she said it was a tradition in his family. This leaves us as friends and fellow club members to honor Bruce in our own way, and pray for the Wheatley family so they can begin the healing process after their tragic loss. More on this later.

    Chad Geer from Dunlop Motorcycle Tires videoed Bruce’s performance playing Amazing Grace on his bagpipes in memory our friend Connie Reaves. The video file is too large to e-mail, so Chad mailed the video file on a flash drive. As soon as Tim can put it together after it arrives, he will post an e-blast with the video to our club members.
