We have sent out a couple of ENews notices containing this information but apparently some have not seen it so far. So to make sure everyone knows here are the details. If you have already responded and let me know you were coming there is no need to do so again. Thanks!
October Club Meeting
The October 23-25 meeting scheduled to be in Nauvoo, AL has been changed to an alternate location. The new meeting location is Vance & Mari’s lake house which is off Coosa Island Road near the Logan Martin Dam off County Road 54 and US231 about 10 miles south of Pell City, AL and I-20. The physical address is 590 Shady Brook Lane Cropwell, AL 35054. GPS Coordinates are N33° 28.059' W86° 20.190'
We have plenty of level grassed yard for tent camping space as well as room for 3-4 small RV’s to boondock (no hook-ups). In addition there is one extra bedroom with a queen size bed and three pull out couches and room for several air mattresses on the screened in porch and another covered porch. These spots will of course be available on a first come reservation basis. (As of this writing the bedroom has been spoken for).
Assuming the weather will provide a beautiful autumn weekend, we will have great riding opportunities for the street riders and if enough want it, there are some off-road routes are available nearby. For those who arrive on Friday night we will do something we haven’t done in a long time….dump stew! We will have stew meat on hand and you bring what you want to dump in the stew! This is really fun and all you have to do is bring a few cans of what you like in the stew…and we’ll dump ‘em in!
Saturday we will serve a pancake breakfast with sausage to start off ride day. We’ll have a couple of options for rides or you can just hang out in the yard. Depending on Alabama Power Co and how they maintain the lake’s water level and the weather we may even go for a boat ride on the lake. Saturday evening we’ll serve brats and the fixins’ in the October Fest style and gather around the fire.
As usual we will need to know how many to prepare for so we can procure the groceries. Please let me know by email ( vicepresident@bmwmoal.org ) which meals you will be present for. Again the prepared meals include Friday Dinner – Saturday Breakfast – Saturday Dinner.
