Call Gary NeSmith or take it to Terry's Two Wheel and have Gary look at it.

I am taking it in tomorrow or Tues. to have a few things done, but I like to know what's wrong in case I have a problem in the future. I want to try and do all of my own work when I can. I got a reply from MOA that said there is about 150cc of oil inside the boot. I am going to check for cracks in the rubber (likely) and check the clamps. I just wasn't sure if there was supposed to be oil inside there before. Apparently there is a "wet" and a "dry" type of drive shaft.
Got any other info I may need to know for the future? I don't like being surprised if I can help it.

There is 150 cc of oil in the drive shaft tube. Either the clamps are lose, the boot isn't on right, or there is a small pin hole in the boot (not uncommon). Take it off and slightly stretch the boot to see if its weather checked.

Bead and soda blasted the motor and wheels. Painted the engine badges. Painted the air tubes. Powder coated the foot pegs, battery boxes and rear turn signal bar. Oh, and I finally washed it.

Got my wixom fairing yesterday. I am going to get it mounted after Nauvoo. Anybody have one mounted with the original hardware? I think only two brackets are original, so I need to create some new ones. I also have to paint the back side and make a new shield. The one that came with it is really scratched up. I am thinking of making a shorty out of that one and painting it black.

                  Sorry about that Jimmy.

Your bike was certainly a good one, but there are other other good bikes out there too. Jim Dubick, Tommy Arnold and I found good ones and I'll wager neither one of us would part with them. Riding an old airhead is something special.

I may be picking up a "new" R60/5 tomorrow! I'm still wanting a GS or a Rockster, but this bike might be another nice bike to restore.

Nope. Drove all the way up to Hayden and the bike was not worth 1500 dollars. The frame was a '73 R60/5, the engine was from Feb. 1975 (either a 600 or 750), the carbs were from Japan, the headlight lens and chrome ring were from another bike, the speedo was inoperable, the seat ???, it leaked from everywhere, the aluminum was corroded all over, it had been painted blue, and it was rusty in pretty much every crevice. Oh, but the frame and headlight shell looked fine.
